The Pole Star is the bightest star which always appears in the north pole.It is always in the north so it's called as North Star.

The Pole Star Will Change?
yes,It does every few thousand years

  • In a little more than 5,000 years from now, Alderamin, the brightest star in the constellation Cepheus, will be almost the Pole Star.
  • About 7,000 years from now, Deneb, the brightest star in Cygnus, will be the pretender for the Pole Star for a while.
  • In about 12,000 years from now, Vega, the brightest star in Lyra, will be the Pole Star. Vega will be a brilliant Pole Star some six times brighter than Polaris.

                                                                      Alderamin

For what this pole star is used

How to find The Pole Star
Two bright constellations occupy opposite sides of the pole star. The Big Dipper and Cassiopeia. As the celestial sphere rotates (or appears to rotate), these constellations also march in circles around the pole . Depending on the hour of the night and the day of the year, one or the other may be low near the horizon where it is barely seen, or even hidden below the horizon. But when that happens the other constellation is sure to be high in the sky, where (weather permitting) it is easily seen.

Enjoy watching stars.
It's hot but looks cool.
